Which work permit class do I need?
It depends on your role: Class D for employees of specific employers, Class G for investors, Class F for miners, Class I for missionaries, etc. We advise on the correct class at consultation.
Can I start work before the permit is issued?
No. Working in Kenya without a valid permit is an offence. A Special Pass can bridge the gap while a full permit is being processed.
How much are government fees?
Government fees vary by class. Class D, for example, currently attracts a KES 200,000 annual fee plus KES 10,000 processing fee. Fees are payable to the Directorate.
